The TUI Group is Europe’s biggest travel company, based in Hanover, Germany. In the UK it is better known under the local brand Thomson Holidays. TUIfly have an excellent reputation for safety, security and reliability and are renowned for their friendly provision of a high quality on-board service. They operate air services throughout the world, and have extensive experience of island operations, including the Caribbean, the smaller Greek islands, the Canary Islands and Madeira. Flights to Saint Helena will be operated by TUIfly (Netherlands) based in Amsterdam under approvals from the UK CAA and St Helena Government.
Flights are on one of TUIfly (Netherlands) fleet of Boeing 737-800 series aircraft. These aircraft are fitted in a configuration of six seats abreast separated by a single aisle. Please note that owing to the operational limitations of the St. Helena service the product offered differs from that described in generic TUIfly promotional material.
Seats are available in two classes, Economy and EconomyPlus. Economy seating is at a pitch of 29”, while EconomyPlus offers 33”. Further, in EconomyPlus the middle seat on each side will not be occupied, meaning greater leg room, elbow room and overall space.
All passengers will receive a free hot meal on the sector linking London Luton and Banjul, and a snack on the sector linking Banjul and St Helena. Free hot and cold drinks will be served throughout the flight, including alcoholic drinks. In-flight entertainment by way of rolling films and popular TV programmes will be shown.
As well as extra space, EconomyPlus passengers also benefit from Executive Lounge access and Fast Track security at London Luton airport, and receive free sparkling wine on board.
There are no child fares offered in EconomyPlus, if parents wish their children to travel in this class they must pay the full adult fare.
All passengers are entitled to bring 5kgs of hand baggage on to the aeroplane. The amount of luggage each passenger may check in to the hold is dependent upon the fare category purchased. Owing to weight limitations any baggage in excess of that included within the fare may not be accepted for carriage. Any excess baggage that is accepted will incur a charge.
TUIfly, London Luton airport and St Helena airport will provide full support services for Persons of Reduced Mobility (disabled passengers) at no extra cost. Passengers should advise of these needs at the time of booking to guarantee the best assistance.
TUIfly will provide special meals upon request. Those passengers adhering to a specific diet, eg vegetarian, should indicate their preference when making their booking. Late requests for special meals may not be satisfied.
